Shortwave Radios
Radios have been one of the earliest forms of media. The short wave radio, one of the radio frequencies, is more popularly used today because of its usefulness and many advantages. Shortwave radios are the ones we use today to listen to popular AM or FM stations, news, music or our favorite sports broadcasts.
During the 1920`s, shortwave radios were developed. Since wavelength and frequency are inversely related, shorter wavelengths mean higher frequencies which means it could reach a bigger audience. And so, the shortwave radio kits have been used by operators since the First World War and are still being used today .
Short wave radios are commonly low cost. This means it is available and affordable for many types of people. Another advantage is that it travels faster than FM and has a wider reach. Its broadcasts may be heard around the globe.
More and more brands offer affordable shortwave radios for travel or homes. There are portable short wave radios, pocket or mini short wave radios,and even digital short wave radios. There are even battery-operated ones like the emergency short wave radios which you can use where there is no internet, satellite or electricity available.
